Your dosha is your Ayurvedic blueprint — the first step to personalized wellness.
Ayurveda recognizes three bio-energies called doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Everyone has a unique combination of these three energies, which governs your physical traits, mental tendencies, and emotional patterns.
Your dominant dosha (or combination of two) shapes how you digest, sleep, think, and respond to stress. When balanced, you experience vitality and clarity. When imbalanced, you may feel unwell.
Understanding your dosha helps you choose the right foods, routines, and self-care practices tailored to your unique constitution.

Understanding Your Dosha Assessment
Think about who you are naturally, not how you've been feeling this week. For example, if you're currently stressed and not sleeping well, don't answer based on your current sleep pattern. Instead, think: "How do I normally sleep when life is balanced?" Answer based on your lifelong patterns — what's been true for you since childhood or early adulthood. If you're unsure between two answers, choose the one that describes you most of the time, not just occasionally.
That's completely normal — most people have characteristics of all three doshas. Choose the answer that feels most dominant or most consistent throughout your life. For example, with the question about body frame: you might gain weight easily (Kapha) but have a medium build (Pitta). Choose whichever feels more true most of the time. Our doctor will see the overall pattern across all your answers, not judge you by a single response.
In Ayurveda, your physical features reveal your constitutional blueprint. Hair texture tells us about your body's natural moisture levels and how you metabolize nutrients. Eyes indicate your sensitivity to light and environmental stimuli. Teeth and gums show your bone density and tissue quality. These aren't superficial questions — they're windows into your deeper physiology that help our doctor understand your Prakriti (birth constitution).
Your digestion is one of the most important indicators of your dosha. The doctor analyzes: How strong is your digestive fire (Agni)? Do you process food quickly or slowly? Is your appetite predictable or erratic? Can you skip meals easily or do you become uncomfortable? Your answers reveal whether your constitution tends toward variable digestion (Vata), strong and fast metabolism (Pitta), or slow but steady processing (Kapha). This helps determine which foods and eating patterns will support you best.
How your body handles temperature extremes reveals your natural thermoregulation and elemental balance. Vata types tend to feel cold deeply in their bones because they lack the insulating, warming qualities of earth and water. Pitta types generate internal heat naturally and often prefer cooler environments. Kapha types have good insulation and stable body temperature. Your answer helps the doctor understand which seasonal adjustments and warming or cooling practices will benefit you most.
Your stress response shows your nervous system's natural tendencies. When life gets challenging, does your mind race with worry and anxiety (Vata)? Do you become irritable, frustrated, or quick to anger (Pitta)? Or do you withdraw, feel heavy, and lose motivation (Kapha)? This isn't about judging your coping skills — it reveals your constitutional vulnerability under pressure, which helps the doctor recommend specific stress management practices suited to your nature.
Think about your natural baseline when you're healthy and balanced. If you're currently going through a stressful period, pregnancy, illness, or major life change, your answers might reflect temporary imbalances rather than your true constitution. Try to remember: "What has been most consistently true for me throughout my adult life?" If you've changed significantly, note this in the optional health concerns field so the doctor can consider it in your analysis.
Your relationship with change reveals your mental and emotional constitution. Vata types often love novelty and adapt quickly but can become scattered by too much change. Pitta types are cautious and analytical about change but can embrace it when it serves a clear purpose. Kapha types prefer stability and routine, finding change uncomfortable but can be deeply loyal once committed. This helps the doctor understand your mental patterns and recommend practices that support your natural tendencies.
Sleep quality reflects your nervous system's natural state. Light, restless sleep with frequent waking indicates Vata predominance, an active, sensitive nervous system. Moderate sleep that's sound but can be disturbed suggests Pitta focused mind that can "turn off" when needed. Deep, heavy sleep with difficulty waking shows Kapha, grounded, stable nervous system. Your sleep pattern helps the doctor recommend evening routines, timing of meals, and specific herbs that support your rest.
Don't worry, that's actually common and valuable information for the doctor. You might have dry skin (Vata) but strong digestion (Pitta), or light body frame (Vata) with calm temperament (Kapha). These apparent contradictions help the doctor identify your unique dual-dosha or tri-doshic constitution. The doctor is trained to see patterns across all your answers and understand how different doshas combine in your specific case.
Our AYUSH certified doctor receives your responses and reviews them carefully, looking at the overall pattern rather than individual answers. The doctor considers: Which dosha qualities appear most consistently? Are there signs of current imbalance versus natural constitution? What combination of doshas creates your unique profile? Within 48 hours, you'll receive a personalized analysis explaining your constitution, why you have the tendencies you do, and specific recommendations for diet, lifestyle, and self-care practices that support your individual nature.
Once submitted, responses cannot be edited because the doctor begins analysis immediately. If you realize you answered something incorrectly or want to add important context, you can mention this in your reply when you receive your dosha report via email. The doctor can clarify or adjust recommendations based on additional information you provide. Take your time filling out the form, it's better to think carefully now than rush through and need corrections later.
