In brief: A distributor supplying practitioners, shops or centres in one country needs a stable classical range, formats for both treatment rooms and shelves, delivery that involves no customs within the EU, and labels that meet the rules of the country where the products are sold.
What a distributor does for a range
Many practitioners and shops prefer to buy from someone in their own country, who speaks their language, visits them and knows the local market. A distributor fills that role: it holds stock close to its clients, handles their orders and payment terms, and explains the range to people who meet it for the first time. For a classical range, where every preparation has a name and a tradition to explain, that local knowledge is worth as much as the stock.
What we supply to distributors
- The full Art of Vedas range, from sealed retail packs to Thailams in 1 litre and 5 litre formats and Churnams by the kilogram. The complete list, by preparation type, is on our wholesale page.
- Panchakarma equipment by quotation, for distributors who equip centres as well as supplying them.
- Dispatch from warehouses inside the EU, so deliveries to EU addresses involve no customs clearance and no import duty.
- Batch documentation on request, and a published quality page for each preparation with the tests recorded for its batch.
- Trade prices through a distributor account on Shop Ayurveda EU, our platform for professional buyers.
Labels and languages
Within the EU, a product has to be labelled in a language that buyers in the country of sale understand, and for cosmetics and food supplements each member state decides which language that is. Tell us which countries you will supply before the first order, so that we can confirm the labels for each of them.
As long as products are sold as supplied, the obligations stay with the business named on the label. Under EU cosmetics law, a distributor that repacks a cosmetic product, or sells it under its own name, becomes its Responsible Person, with the obligations that role carries. Food supplements follow national rules in each country, which is one more reason to agree the markets at the start.
How to become a distributor
- Tell us about your market: the country or countries, your channels (practitioners, shops, centres or online), the categories you want to carry and an estimate of volume. Use the enquiry form on our wholesale page or write to info@artofvedas.com.
- Apply for a distributor account at shopayurveda.eu. Registration is free, and each application is reviewed by our team.
- Agree the range, formats and delivery before the first order.
- Order and reorder through the account, where payment and delivery status stay with each order.
Supporting the practitioners you supply
Your clients will ask how much to order and how to handle what they buy. Our professional guides answer the most common questions and can be passed on as they are: Thailam in 1 litre and 5 litre formats, Udvartana and Lepa powders by the kilogram, Panchakarma equipment for a centre and planning oil quantities for a treatment room.
Common questions
Does a distributor need to be based in the EU?
Distributors inside the EU receive deliveries without customs formalities. For Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Norway, please contact us first: import duty and VAT are charged on arrival, and the practical route is agreed in advance.
Can a distributor order the professional formats?
Yes. Distributor accounts see the 1 litre and 5 litre Thailams, the kilogram Churnams and the retail packs, with trade prices, once the account is approved.
Is there a minimum order?
Volumes are agreed with each distributor before the first order, together with the range and the delivery rhythm.
