Unit price perThe Kansa Abhyanga Wand is a body massage tool hand-cast from Kansa bronze with a large, smooth dome and an ergonomic hardwood handle. The dome is sized and shaped for broad, sweeping strokes along the limbs, back and shoulders during Abhyanga (traditional Ayurvedic oil massage). Kansa has a naturally cooling quality, valued in Ayurvedic bodywork for its smooth glide on oiled skin.
Apply a generous amount of massage oil before use. Work in long strokes along the limbs (from extremities toward the centre) and circular motions on the joints. Spend extra time on areas of tension such as the shoulders, lower back and calves. Clean and dry thoroughly after each use. Store away from moisture.
For external use only. Not a substitute for professional medical advice.
The Ritual of Body Abhyanga
Warm your oil, apply generously to the skin, and use the Kansa Abhyanga Wand in long, sweeping strokes from the extremities toward the heart. Work slowly along the arms, legs and calves, then use circular motions on the shoulders and joints. The large bronze dome covers broad areas of the body with each stroke, making the ritual efficient and deeply satisfying. Spend 10 to 15 minutes. The cool Kansa against warm, oiled skin creates the distinctive grounding sensation valued in Ayurvedic bodywork.
Choose Your Abhyanga Oil
The Kansa Abhyanga Wand is designed to glide with traditional Ayurvedic body oils. For a Dosha-specific ritual, pair it with the Vata Massage Oil for warming, grounding strokes, the Pitta Massage Oil for cooling, soothing care, or the Tri Dosha Massage Oil for a balanced, everyday practice.
For deeper classical support, Dhanwantharam Thailam brings over 28 herbs in a single oil, traditionally the most valued companion for full-body Abhyanga. Any of these oils provides the right texture and nourishment for the wand to work effectively on the skin.
Every Abhyanga Starts with Oil. These Are Our Recommendations.
The Kansa Abhyanga Wand's large bronze dome fits naturally over the body's major Marma points, applying even, cooling pressure that hands alone cannot replicate.
Gulpha - the ankle joint
Janu - the centre of the knee
Urvi - the mid-thigh
Katikataruna - the hip joint and sacrum
Nitamba - the upper buttock
Ansaphalaka - the shoulder blade
Krikatika - the base of the skull at the neck
Kurpara - the elbow joint
Hold the wand by its hardwood handle and press the dome gently into each point with slow circular motions for 30 to 60 seconds. The smooth, curved surface of the Kansa dome distributes pressure evenly across the joint, while the natural cooling quality of the bronze calms heat at each point. Work with warm oil and move from the feet upward. This is what makes the wand a tool, not just an accessory - it reaches deeper and more consistently than fingertip pressure alone.
Made to Last. Care for It Accordingly.
The Kansa metal develops a natural patina over time, this is not damage, it is the character of a real bronze. To keep the surface in good condition, wipe clean with a soft damp cloth after every use and dry thoroughly. Avoid prolonged contact with water, oils left sitting on the surface, or abrasive materials. Store in a dry place away from humidity.
